Solvent Coater Operator - 2nd shift

Tends and operates coating machine and does related tasks to produce jumbo rolls meeting company quality and performance standards.


  • Uphold company safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Setup, start up, operate, monitor and adjust coating machine for quality output
  • Perform routine maintenance, including but not limited to, cleaning the machine, particularly the coating stations, rollers, dryers and lubrication of the machine
  • Change/replace tooling (i.e. spreader bars) and replace normal wear parts (i.e. oven seals)
  • Responsible for production output 1 Load/unload all required materials on machine with hoist
  • Skid and band jumbos 1 Work with Coating Operations Support Technician to keep coating reservoirs full
  • Responsible to complete production paperwork correctly
  • Follow and give written and oral instructions/communication, and work without close supervision
  • Perform quality assurance testing as required 1 Enter production and testing data into the computer
  • Work in a group concept; self-motivated; able and willing to be cross-functional
  • Work with Coating Operations Support to keep the coating department areas neat and clean
  • Use solvents safely to clean machine, filters, floors, etc.
  • Train new employees as instructed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • High school graduate or equivalent work experience with basic math, written and oral communication skills as well as mechanical skills
  • Requires good hearing and correctable vision
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.; climb stairs/ walk/stand a significant part of the shift; work in high humidity and high temperatures
  • Previous machine related experience preferred
  • Must be able to pay attention to details and have knowledge of the metric system
  • Ability to use measuring tools including weigh scales, thickness gauges, and other measuring tools
  • Must have ability to start-up and shutdown related equipment: compressor, cooling system, adhesive pumps, incinerator, recovery system, etc.
  • Hours: any as required, including overtime
  • Must be able to work within the framework of 5S, ISO and TS requirements
